Latinos · Italian-Spanish restaurant in the heart of Valkenburg

Story

Our story

From Turin to Palermo, from Pamplona to Seville — in the countries of the Mediterranean, eating is a celebration. Latinos takes you on a culinary journey through Spain and Italy, where a meal is a coming-together of friends, acquaintances and family. Where the day ends with a good glass of wine, wonderful food and a buzzing atmosphere. Surrounded by the people you love.

Latinos brings you the traditional dishes and recipes from the purest and healthiest cuisines of Europe. Fresh garlic, sea salt and good olive oil form the simple foundation of the flavourful, pure and healthy Mediterranean cuisine.

The warm, shimmering atmosphere of the Mediterranean runs all through our menu and our characterful restaurant. With dishes such as fresh lobster, a beautiful leg of lamb, wonderful tapas, an array of pastas and traditional desserts, we carry you off to southern climes and craft an evening you will never forget.

You are most welcome.

Antipasti & Tapas

This is how an evening at Latinos begins: a table full of small plates to pass around. Jamón ibérico de bellota, aged thirty months and longer. Scampi al ajillo with garlic and piment d’Espelette. Burrata, calamares, croquetas de chorizo. And at the raw bar, oysters, ceviche and steak tartare.

The plates are deliberately mid-sized, made to be shared. One or two per person alongside a main, or three when you would rather graze together all evening. No obligatory starter, just a table full of flavour and the time to enjoy it.

Pasta

Fresh pasta, made with patience. Conchiglie alla bolognese, filled shells finished au gratin. Tortelloni of ricotta, spinach and truffle. Spaghetti vongole e sobrasada with clams in a creamy sauce. And spaghetti carne, with beef tenderloin, parmigiano and truffle oil.

Beyond fresh garlic, good olive oil and sea salt, this kitchen needs little. The rest is patience, and the time a good dish deserves. That is how the South arrives at your table.

Mains & Dolci

The dishes the evening works towards. A whole sea bream with herb butter, fresh lobster from our own homarium with samphire, a leg of lamb slow-cooked with caponata, or a bone-in entrecote of around 600 grams for two.

And to close, the dolci from our own kitchen. The tiramisù comes straight from the drawer, the crema catalana under a thin, brittle layer of caramel, mini cannoli with ricotta and pistachio. Over an espresso or a digestif, the evening is welcome to linger. Because dining is a celebration, surrounded by the people you love.

The wine list

Our focus, as you might expect, is on Italian and Spanish wines. They make up a large part of the list, from lesser-known houses to the familiar classics.

The world of wine is of course far wider than these two beautiful countries. So we have added a number of wines from other well-known regions, from Burgundy to the Napa Valley.

We also work with a fixed markup. That keeps the list affordable, with a fair price on every bottle.
